Youth Work Meets Theatre: Exploring Conflict Through Creativity
From the snowy forests of Likani π¬πͺ to the green hills of Dilijan π¦π², I had the opportunity to participate in both parts of the Erasmus+ project “Youth Workers Go to Theatre” β a powerful experience that combined applied theatre, Nonviolent Communication, and psychodrama to address youth work challenges in the post-pandemic era.
Over the course of two immersive training courses (Feb & June 2025), 30 youth workers from π¦π² π¬πͺ ππΊ π·π΄ π«π· πΊπ¦ came together to:
βοΈ Transform conflicts into opportunities for growth
βοΈ Practice empathy, active listening & self-awareness
βοΈ Learn and apply theatre methods like Theatre of the Oppressed
βοΈ Design and deliver non-formal workshops
βοΈ Build a cross-border community of practice
This experience deepened my understanding of mental health, peaceful communication, and the role of art as a tool for transformation β both for young people and those who guide them.πΏ Special thanks to EMINA Foundation and all partner organisations for making this possible. Now itβs time to bring this energy to our local communities π«
